RFP-Creating Change Travel Grant

 

PYTA is thrilled to announce a new grant opportunity available to its members across the U.S. and Canada. Funding is available to cover travel expenses to the Creating Change Conference, January 20-24, 2016 in Chicago, IL! This is an opportunity for staff and youth representatives from Queer Youth Theater organizations to attend a fantastic leadership-development and network-building event. Funds for this grant are provided by the Mukti Fund and awarded by PYTA to eligible members who apply by the Friday, November 6, 2015 deadline. 

 


GRANT GUIDELINES:

FUNDING – 4 organizations will be awarded grants of up to $3,000 towards the costs of transportation, lodging, and registration for the 2016 Creating Change Conference in Chicago, IL, January 20-24. 

 

PYTA MEMBERS – Only members who have paid their 2015-2016 Membership Dues are eligible to apply for funding.

 

ATTENDEES – At least 2 young people and 1 adult must attend the Creating Change Conference to qualify for funding.

MEETINGS – If funded, group representatives will be required to meet daily with a PYTA Cohort for workshops, conversations, and reflections specific to the field of Queer Youth Theater.

REPRESENTATION – If funded, each person in will be asked to represent PYTA and their home organization/program in order to raise visibility and awareness about work of PYTA.

REPORTING – If funded, each person who attends the conference must submit a short reflection (1-2 pages) on what the conference meant to them, how they were empowered, what they learned, and what they will take back to their community.


TO APPLY:

Download the application and submit it to director@prideyouththeateralliance.org by Friday, November 6, 2015.

Funding decisions will be made by Friday, November 13, 2015 and grant award letters will be sent via email. Partial funding will be sent by mail as an advance to cover transportation costs.  The remainder of the awarded funds will be mailed once reports are collected from all funded representatives in your group.
